Of course, we all want to get paid well!
Our unique talents deserve it.
CAUTION!!!
The truth is, if money is the main reason to choose your job...
you'll soon lose it!
The story of Jack and Jill
Once upon a time, there were two fresh graduates: Jack and Jill.
Jack spent his days learning new Chinese characters and was found of literature. As an excellent student, he passed his exams with honors and chose the best paying career: trader!
Jill spent his days simulating pricing models on his computer, discussing with his investors fellows on stock trends, checking how his portfolio quoted every hour. After graduation, he chose the job for which he had the most passion: trader!
Two years later, guess who had job and who had no job anymore...

For Jill, checking the market quotes before coming to work was a habit, connecting with brokers was just a breeze and learning new pricing methods was an obvious move.
For Jack, each of these demanded efforts. He did do them, but never brought enthusiasm nor went the extra-mile asking for more involvement into enhanced trading practices.
When results evaluation came, Jill had performed better.
When higher exposure came, Jill embraced the new challenge.
When promotion times came, Jill was the obvious choice.
And soon, the gap widened between Jill and Jack.
Jack had less opportunities, hence less practice, hence less confidence, finally less value.
And Jack lost his job.

Choose a job that matches your passion, purpose and values
If Jack had chosen a job matching his passion, he would have bloomed there with a supportive attitude.
And this is not only true for Jack and Jill.
And this is not only true for fresh graduates.
And this is not only true for men.
This is true for each of us.
If we choose a job matching our passion, we bloom there with a supportive attitude.
Financial security needs to be addressed and compensation plays an important role in choosing a job.
Remember though that:
"Choose a job that you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
